As Christmas Eve approaches...

I have to be honest with you. I'm sad about Christmas Eve approaching. It's because of my Lola. It will all change this year.

You see, even before I was born, Father Arevalo would always say mass on Christmas Eve in my Lola's house. There would be Jesuit Scholastics in the choir and it was an intimate setting. Only family and close friends were there.

So I asked a few days ago on what the Christmas Eve plans were. For the first time in my life, I won't be spending Christmas Eve in my Lola's house. There won't be any intimate mass setting either. I don't know... I'm rather worried that it'll be sad for a lot of us. I mean, I got used to seeing the familiar faces every year. It will all change on December 24.

But if you're worried about me while reading this entry, fear not, I think we'll all be ok. I know Lola's just watching over us...

hi jiggy,

to share with you, the first time we celebrated christmas without my mom, it took all of us super human effort not to break down. each of us were controlling emotions because we don't want my papa to breakdown. but really, we realized it is fine to feel that deep sadness because we were simply missing a loved one... so years after my papa died, we knew better and just say so... that we miss him and we feel really, really sad...

your family have grieved on her gracefully, we continue to pray for all of you :)
