I guess my life has changed...

It's weird for me because I'm the private type of person. Here I am never expecting to get 100 followers on The Tangled Web + 10,000 on Twitter. It's weird for me. I'm just a normal guy doing normal things. But ever since my Lola's cancer, someone from my generation had to step up and speak in behalf of the family. So that was it...

Here I am, trying to escape my sadness through twittering and blogging. But in the end, it really won't do much. Lola was HUGE part of my life and now she's gone to a better place. In the family, we are trying to cope in our own little ways but it's the togetherness that's important.

Anyway, I don't know what to do now. Should I adapt or let it die down... Eventually, new news will come up and people tend to forget... That's what I don't want to happen. So in my own little way, I will try to do more good things like my grandparents. They're not that concrete as of the moment. But yes, I do intend to do something. I think Tito Bam said it best that you can still do public service even when you're not in politics.

So we'll see. But for now, I want to get back to my normal life and lay low... But I wouldn't mind having followers in my Blog. After all, this blog is public. :)

Hey Jiggy,

I'm not one to speak for the majority, and do find my thoughts sometimes differ much, nor am I a psychologist (hehe) - but I think with the passing of your lola, a lot of people have tried to search for someone to pin their hopes on, much like the way they did on her - and you are one of the easiest to see - why not? I think you got your lolo's charisma and your lola's sincerity. ;)

In any case Jiggy, my prayers to you and your family. God Bless!

heyhey! you know what even if new news will come up or what not, i'm pretty sure your grandparents wont be forgotten. even if you wont hear from people abt Them, they'll always be in our hearts (and in our pockets! hehe)

cheer up dude!

- hmm.. the great men (and women) of your family, from Don Servillano down to Senator Noynoy, were known for putting the country before their own family. after almost a century of public service, i would say that your bloodline has served the country (more than) enough. and the country would understand why you'd opt to 'lay low' or why 'letting things to die down' even crossed your mind. after all, you deserve the biggest share of peace.

BUT... in my opinion, now is the worst time for anyone (especially the youth) to lay low, jiggy. i do hope that people like you would make the most out of their potential!

it's hard to keep your privacy to your own personal space since you come from a "public owned" family. and that's way different from my situation being an ordinary individual.,and being a member of same, you have to stay at a certain level that everything you do must have a rationale behind..how do you cope with that?..well i guess everybody's life has to change..and it's true, people's attention will focus on other direction if something new comes along, and that's the role maybe that you have to fulfill,to keep their presence felt and to carry on with what they had started,it's hard to lose someone very close to you isn't it?..
i've got something to share,i have a friend here, who was diagnosed with colon cancer a week ago,she underwent surgery last friday and she's in intensive care since she came out of the theatre. It's very hard to get sick if you're thousand of miles away from home.. she has two small kids and we take turns looking after them.Whatever lies ahead we don't know yet..

"I look upon life as a gift from God. I did nothing to earn it. Now the time has come to give it back, I have no right to complain"..

that's one of the famous quote that i learned when my grandmother died couple of years ago, sadness is part of it.Get on with it that's all i can say,you have to let go so you could move on..
God Bless!!

And this is actually the weird part, I don't know why I feel so warm towards you and hooked up with all your posts. Maybe it's because I felt the pain you feel or uh.. weird I say, I don't know. Hahaha. Anyway, good luck with your going back to the normal life :)

Hi jiggy! Honestly, I just started conducting a sort-of-in-dept study regarding your grandparents late last year. But in spite of that short time, I found out that they were great individuals, not just on the political side, but on a personal level as well. They were honest, humble, and most of all God-fearing individuals. They are really a lost to our country.

Now that they're no longer with us, all we can do is to accept the fact and face reality. I know it's not that easy. I also lost my papa when I was a kid, and it took me a very long time to cope up with the hurt and longing.

I just want you to know that time will heal all the pain. Don't be too hard and force yourself to cope up with your current situation.

You and your family will always be included on my prayers.

Jiggy, remember that the pain of losing a loved one will NEVER go away, you will only GET USED to it. My mom died 12 years ago (also to colon cancer), but the pain is still there, because I love her.

I think you will forever feel the pain of losing your Lola Cory because you love her dearly. But you'll be okey... You'll get used to it...

Personally, I think one of the things that make your blog an interesting read is that apart from the fact that you are the grandson of two legendary people, you're also just like anybody else. You're not trying to be anyone you're not regardless of all the status that your bloodline gives you. And by being able to understand that you can make an impact on the world in your own small way and by wanting to do so just tells us how great of a grandma the former president truly was. :)

Hi Jiggy! You are a part of the national life and consciousness now, because of the goodness and kindness of your great grand parents... We follow you because of that... But what is very amazing is that you grand children of your amazing grand parents are just so like them, in kindness, goodness, and your charisma and mass appeal... May your tribe increase...

hi jiggy,

went to see cory the musical tonight,my second time to do so and kiko dee was there to represent the family. he appeared very shy, very unassuming but very gracious through it all, your lola must be really proud of all of you, pitching in as much as you can, living up to your grandparents' ideals while at the same time trying to lead as normal a life as possible, as normal as your current circumstances will allow. but i do not think you can go back to the way things were before the events of august 1-5, 2009. sabi ni ted kennedy in his eulogy to his dad, his dad taught him that even our most profound losses are survivable, it is what one does with that loss, the ability to turn it into a positive event that was one of his dad's greatest lessons, and kuha mo naman yun jiggy eh. i am so amazed by the amount of growing up you had to do after your lola's passing and to do it in the public eye, wow, ang hirap but you acquit yourself very well. sabi nga ng mga kaibigan natin dito, just continue doing what makes you happy, what is most meaningful to you, no pressure to do any other thing, except to just be you.:)
