Time flies so fast... I'm telling you. You have to live life to the fullest. Spend as much time as you can with your loved ones and tell them how much you love them...
August 21 is a day significant to my Lola. Her Father and Husband both died on the same day. (But different years). To me, it's remembering my Lolo and the sacrifice he made. My Lolo Ninoy put the country ahead of family. He BELIEVED in the Filipino. He really did...
Let's not make his death meaningless...
We have to start being patriotic. The change begins in ourselves...
Nothing will happen if we stay apathetic and cynical.
Let us be reminded that The Filipino is indeed worth dying AND living for!!!

"...I also want to remember that he was not just a symbol, but a real person. The best way to do that is through his family."
"...and Jiggy Cruz, who has represented their family well during and after Pres. Cory Aquino's passing. He blogs at The Tangled Web."
[Read ur feature in a magazine - you mentioned you don't remember him much, but still, to me, you "humanize" him. He's not just some symbol - he was a real person, with a wife, children, and grandchildren - just like any of us. And yet he did so much for our country and for the world. Thank you!] -reyjr
Hey Jiggy,
Happy NINOY AQUINO day to you and your family! I'm sure your Lola Cory is having a great time in Heaven with your Lolo Ninoy; being her 1st time to commemorate the day of his martyrdom together! 0;-)
Remembering what your Lolo said in his L.A. speech back in 1981, he told everyone to "stand up now and be a LEADER! Because if all of us are leaders, we can expedite the cause of freedom!" I guess that message is still applicable today especially on the youth.
One thing's for sure, Parker; with today's technology and fast-paced progress, your Lolo and Lola will be forever immortalized in our hearts by everyone who believes in them...and you can count on us to keep the flame burning bright!
Mabuhay ang PILIPINAS!
Your ally,
Jon Aquino
